Javier Payan was still a teenager when he started his first pool service company in San Diego in 1987. He’s been working on pools ever since.
Under his leadership, Payan Pool Service was named one of North America’s Top 50 Service Companies by Pool & Spa News eight years in a row, from 2019 through 2026. Over the years he also became a driving force in IPSSA and PHTA, two of the groups that hold the pool industry together. He serves as Treasurer and CFO of the Pool & Spa Apprenticeship and Training Committee. And in 2023, the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance named him Service Professional of the Year, an award that only happens when your peers nominate you.
Now Javier brings more than four decades of pool experience to Plunge Pools West. When your Titanium Pool goes in, it’s installed by someone who knows pools inside and out.
Valerie VenegasVice President
Valerie Venegas, Vice President, spent years in nonprofit administration, most recently as a program administrator for Episcopal Community Services, before joining Payan Pool Service as office manager. There she modernized the company’s operations, built out its benefits and office team, and led the government proposals that won contracts at Naval Air Station Coronado and Naval Base Point Loma. Pool & Spa News named her a Pool Service MVP in 2022. At Plunge Pools West, she keeps every project organized from first quote to final walkthrough.
